Looks like a step motor to me. Used in assembly lines, where pecision is a must. On step tables, building circuts for computers.

EDIT: I just looked at the home page, i didn't do any research on it.

I had a look around that site, and all i could find were air rams for presses, and an air press near the bottom, so, if im not mistaken, its a hydraulic ram that uses air, rather than fluid to force the rod out.

 yes, if you take away all my useless descriptions, and the lame line "its a hydraulic ram that uses air"

EDIT: I also noticed that your from Aus, all the fittings and pipe down here is damn expensive, and ive been looking in bunnings and stuff, and i cant find a sprinkler valve anywhere, i dont know if im looking in the right section or not, i just go to the PVC section down the back. it would help heaps if you could tell me where to go to get one?

cheers,
skinner

That's called a pneumatic sylinder. They are made in hundreds of configurations to suit all your air-power needs.

(You put pressure behind it and it pushes a rod forward.)
