What size of pipe will slide nicely over a 3" pipe? I was thinking about using it as a sliding loader in my pneumatic pistol.. and what can I use to hold the slider in place so it doesn't blow off when I fire?

about the slide loader on the pistol, i don't knowhow big your barrel is but on my 1/2 paint ball barrel i used a a 1/2 coupling that i hollowed out a little bit with a dremel. its held in place with a spring and prevented from moving to far with a hollowed out 1/2 tee
heres a pic

flamerz14 - the same technique applies at 1/2" as 3". Just use a bored out coupling - preferably with O-rings if you can.

the spring is just a weak peace of wire i coiled up, i left a little extra wire at th end to hold it in place. i made a a small hole and stuck the end of the spring of the spring in the hole, it holds it pretty well
