Breech Load

Looking for a new way to make a breech and for a bigger barrel.

Picture describes it all:

(Metal rod is used as a grip/handle for loading)

I made a prototype earlier and it worked for my older 2" PVC pipe barrel perfectly. But once I put it on my newer 2" barrel, the couplings were too tight. Obviously the older pipe had a smaller outer diameter. Other than that, any suggestions?

ZOMG! thats a dwv bell reducer!! :D

looks good, but as for the bigger barrel, i would say bore it out a tad more.

It probably would work ok, but I personally don't like breech loaders that involve springs and manually loading in the projectile. It would be better if you just made that portion of the barrel seal with the breech cover, and you could move it by hand... this is just my preference however, and if you like the way your design feels, then go for it.

If you bore out the couplings a tiny bit (through the use of a dremel or even just some sandpaper) it would definitely help a lot.
