A pistol - Questions about blowgun valve and piston valve

Hey
Iv done some searching and i didn't get a proper answer to my question.

I was wondering if a blowgun has enough airflow and stuff to power a projectile from a 6mm tube with a decent velocity. Im looking to make a pistol which shoots out 6mm projectiles. Im gonna wrap a nail in some duct tape.

I also had a look at making a piston valve coaxial pistol. But for that i also need a few pointers and searching hasn't helped much. I was wondering what is the best way to make a piston to be used with a 6mm barrel and a 40mm pvc pressure pipe as a chamber.
Thanks
Marco

If you havent seen it already: http://www.spudfiles.com/forums/piston- ... t8157.html

The blowgun might have enough flow for the pelet to get propelled, but personally I would think that the results will be less than desirable.

Blowguns haven't got good flow. You could build a small pistol like this but it probably wont shoot further or faster than you can throw it.

Yeah i saw that piston thing and i understand how they work, i was just wondering what the best way to make the seal with the barrel and piston is. Oh ok ill go for the piston

have a look here and scroll down - with a long enough barrel, a blowgun will give you decent performance, but for a pistol sized package you need a better valve - have a look at my mini-coaxial designs

Thanks Jackssmirkingrevenge, ill make something like that.
And thanks for the blowgun advice
