ok to the point is it safe to glue poly pipe with pvc fittings im talking using ether pvc glue or epoxy to do it. would this be safe?

For various reasons poly pipe is connected with fusion welds and mechanical connections.

I don't think PVC solvent will work properly if at all on poly pipe.

Epoxy might work, good idea to test on small bits first.

You have a size issue inbetween the two (u.s.) .

poly,cpvc, copper are one size pvc ,,i.p.s(iron pipe size ) is another set of sizes and standards

the poly pipe i am talking about is the exact same od as normal 20mm pvc

I'm not certain, but I believe the term "poly" is reserved for polyethylene pipe. (check this for me, it's your question)

Epoxy won't grab PE, and it's not effected by solvents, so you'll have to use mechanical fasteners.

You can get hold of threaded poly pipe.The threads are BSP,the same used in PVC pipes and all other pipe fittings so just get some threaded sections you can join.

Yeah, boilingleadbath is correct, polly in that context is short for pollyethylene or polyethane, depends what you want to call it. and he is again right, epoxy wont hold it, on the back of epoxy it says wont bond polyethane/polyethelyne and i think another alkane monomer.

You can use epoxy to glue it if it has threads. Then it is more of a mechanical join, rather than a chemical one.
