This is the gun that I want to build. The sides and interiors will be aluminium. The barrel is a 1/2 inch pvc. The valve is a piston valve released by a blow gun which acts as the handle. The paintballs are 40caliber. The gun is powered by a 20 ounce co2 bottle that is connected to the gun by a remote line. This is the gun:

I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions to make this gun better.

How will the mag work? Will it be semi-auto? You should use a aluminium barrel if its based on the thompson gun, it will look alot nicer. You may have to use a metal barrel anyway as I don't think .4cal paintballs fit in 1/2" PVC

... 40 calibar is basically like the diameter of the paintball. so it is .40 of a inch and 1/2" is .50 so ya, it will fit.

The gun works just like an aeg. the magazine is a spring magazine. The paintballs will go into a rubber area, that grips the paintballs loosely. Then when the paintball expands it will fit the barrel. The gun will be semi-automatic because everytime that you pull the trigger of the blow gun the air will be released. The rate of fire will be determined by how fast the regulator can fill the canister.

Ofcourse it will fit, but will it fit well? I forgot the exact figure but 1/2" pvc doesn't have exactly an ID of .5" I think its somewhere closer to .7"

It doesn't matter if the paintball fits the barrel perfectly before launched. I will have a peice of rubber that goes around the ball and will hold it loose bu firmly enough that it doesn't roll out of the barrel. The paintball expands as lanched and will increase to the size of the barrel.
