which is more better to actuate the piston with a ballvalve or a modded sprinkler valve??

also which can take more pressure?

well, depends on the size. if you are going to use a 3/4 ball valve it will beat a 1/2-1" sprinkler.

and a ballvalve will handle way more pressure

A sprinkler valve is a better pilot valve than a ball valve, because it opens a lot faster and is able to dump the pilot volume faster.

Which can take more pressure? It depends. A plastic sprinkler valve and a plastic ball valve can probably take about the same pressure. A metal sprinkler valve can take more pressure than a plastic ball valve (usually), and a metal ball valve can take more pressure than a plastic sprinkler valve. A metal ball valve can probably take more pressure than a metal sprinkler valve too.

...it all depends on the size of your piston valve and the quality of the seal between the piston and the piston seat... there are other factors as well.
