take your bb to whatever store you are going to buy the breakline from. Basicly see what pipe is the best.

ya 5/16 is most common in stores but if you can find 9/32 it would be better than 5/16. copper pipe is usually better too. you will also have to bevel or file the burrs out of the inside of the pipe. good luck

whats a good size for .177 cal bb's? and someone should really sticky a chart of bb's and the barrels they fit in in the BB/Airsoft/Pellet discussion area. it would stop these conversations. in fact, im writing the table down right now. ill post it shortly........

just go to the local hobby store or ACE hardware, they should have an assortment of brass pipes. very handy. ive seen pipe from 1/16 all the way to 3/4", so you can make pretty much anthing. plus, they fit inside each other, almost air-tight

from my past experience with extremely ghetto homemade pump pneumatic airsoft guns i have found that brass 1/8 is the best for 6mm airsoft bbs, just as you suspected.

since then i have moved up to vortex BBMGs with real tight bore airsoft barrel, the performance increase is absolutely incredible. if you plan on actually using this in an airsoft game go with either a brake line or a real airsoft barrel

what is a tight bore? couldnt you just but a crap air soft gun on ebay for like 5 bucks?

tight bore barrels are precision machined barrels you can use to upgrade an airsoft gun. in general they range from 6.04mm to 6.01mm and obviously the tighter they are the more expensive. i saw a 6.02 for a psg1 airsoft sniper for $100,but i have a $30 6.04 m4 barrel right now. most cheap airsoft guns came stock with either really short metal barrels or long segmented plastic barrels, which don't come close to the performance of real tight bores.

are you sure about that singularity? i still have yet to see an airsoft gun with a plastic barrel.............

also, stock airsoft barrels are usually as big as the gun can allow without having it look stupid, and are usually around 6.14mm ID. sometimes you luck out and get a barrel thats 6.09 mm ID, but thats just luck..........
