Semi-Auto Action

I finally got round to making a semi-auto marble cannon on the weekend. At first I tried to use a paintball style blowforward design like
this but it didn't work, tolerences required were to close and I don't have a lathe or access to pvc rod. So then I got thinking and came up with this design and it works perfectly.
Here is a little animation of the action that i made, some clearer 2D diagrams will come as soon as I install CS3.

It should be pretty obvious how it works and where the magazine should go.

essentially it's the same concept as the other design, just built differently - videos in action please!

Ive made a gun with it but I left it at a mates house, I'm going to go get it tomorrow so I'll put some vids up then. I used 3DS Max for the render.

So how is this semi-auto?
It looks fully automatic to me, just needs a constant air supply and a constant paintball feed - which could have the feed port blocked off by the bolty thing moving forward.

that would take a lot of trial and error to get the spring tension correct enough for it to cycle continuously.
For semi-auto you need a separate valve to feed the air in pulses.

Ooh, I want to make one. Has anyone ever made a chart or list of all the different pipe specifications that can fit into one another?

What type of valve are you using to control the flow of air. Does anyone know where I could get a 555 timer circuit. I think that this gun would be perfect hooked up to a bottle of co2. To control the fps of the paintball all you would need to do is change the tension on the spring

How did you stop the balls from rolling out? Did you do something like clide's golf ball gun or something else. And I'm guessing your using a clip or a hopper.
