JB Weld Aussie substitute

What would the aussie substitute of JB weld be? Araldite?
Unless theres JB weld in Australia. But I haven't seen any yet.

I would say Araldite, I've never seen JB Weld though don't think they have it here in Australia. I find that 5 minute araldite gets the job done for most things but if you need super strength go for the 24 hour stuff. I usually let the 5 mitute stuff cure for an hour anyway.

If JB Weld is in NZ it is in Aussie. Cost me $20NZD over here which is like $15US. I had to get it from a Auto-mechanics car place for 4wd cars.

Isn't it just an epoxy?That is what Araldite is.Or is it like engine epoxy?

If its engine epoxy your paying for some good stuff. I'd just go with engine epoxy here its only $2 dearer than Araldite but I find it a lot better. Just go with engine epoxy or Araldite mate its all good.

Holy crap when i saw the first post saying something like "Araldite, definetly araldite" i thought he was being sarcastic, then i read some more and found out that it's just as good as JB weld, also would that Green PVC cement stuff, its pressure rated, be just as good?

Personally I think JB is alot better then arldite, I used it to fix a small hole in my air compressor, everything i've used arldite on has eventually broken/leaked again.

its about $2.50 for a pack here, you ( no offence) are getting ripped off.

I have found JB weld to be extremely strong. It is like impossible to break. I have no idea what araldite is like, because I am not from Austrailia, but I have found many epoxies to not be as strong as JB. Depending on what you are doing, you should definitely look into CA glue, (CA as in cynocryolite ester [something like that]). It is very strong, and it literally melts plastics together to form a bond, as well as gluing it. The thin stuff is perfect for well, thin materials. Thicker stuff works good for bigger stuff. It is especially good for plastics and rubber, but it can also be used for metals. However, I have never used it for metal.

Yeah none taken, everything here is more way expensive when improted from America.

I use Araldite for adhesion and marine epoxy resin for casting, that combination serves me well.

I'd say go with anything marine grade.If it is from a marine parts dealer it is the way to go.I've been working on boats for years.Some of the epoxies and sealants out there are the best.
Gasket Goo/pipe dope is great stuff.I used it to seal up my basic piston gun
