pneumatic air chamber

I was just wondering what would be the best and easiest pneumatic air chamber to make. I am currently using a 2-liter soda bottle(i know, not the best) but i was thinking of making one out of pvc. Is a pvc chamber safe, or can it shatter? I currently have it connected to a modded sprinkler valve and a 1/2" barrel, but i want a better alternative to the soda bottle.

The pvc will not shatter if all of your fiting are sch 40 nsf-pw. Do not use dwv or it will shater. Only use about 100-140psi in pvc chambers.

Yeah, PVC is good. It shouldnt shatter unless you take it really high. Iguess the best option is a co2 tank as a chamber, but second best is probably PVC. Just check what schedule it is. Ask one of the other guys for that help because I live in RSA and things are a little different here

PVC is fine up to it;s pressure rating. use sh40 pvc and get the kind that is rated over your intended usage pressure. so if you want your gun to operate at 50 psi, get pipe that is rated to like 60 psi. A good chamber would be about the size of your barrel, but it dosen't matter much.

ok thanks, that sounds great. i'd like to go up to about 80 psi for now and i think i'll use a 3/4" inch chamber for a 1/2" barrel that is interchangeable to 3/4"

That should be really cool! At those pressures you shouldnt have to worry.
