hello i was wondering how do you make a piston gun i have made a pneumatic gun but the barrel went straight to the barrel and it shot well but people think that a piston would be so much better so i have decided to go with a piston valve but i just cant find the right resource's and where to actually make one (and i mean the hole gun) so can someone please give me some easy links that can help me follow how to make a piston gun so i can fire marbles.
and yes i have already tried wiki and searched forums and how-to i have tried everything but i just cant find anything so help would be really appreciated

coaxial are probably the easiest and give good results.

oh crap! i dont under stand if the piston is ment to push the projectile out then how come when the air flows behind it, it doesn't already knock the piston like on the animation. and how does the piston fall back into place?

actualy i understand what i said above after watching it a few more times but how do you actualy make a exhaust valve do you use a ball valve or what?

mmm, ok.... what happens is the piston is pushed foward by the air and seals the barrel. It leaks around the piston and into the chamber. The chamber is full now. When the air is released from the pilot area (the area behind the piston) by means of a pilot valve (often ball valves and sprinkler valves are used) the air in the chamber pushes the piston back and the air goes out the barrel and shoots the projectile. Just look/read clides animations to see more!
