Large Piston Valve Pilot Valve

Hi,

I'm about to start purchasing all the parts for a 3" porting piston valve and am trying to find a suitable pilot valve for it. Since I'm over here in the UK where sprinkler valves don't exist would a 3/4QEV be just as acceptable? Or should it be looking at possibly dual QEVs?

Cheers,

Michael

why not just a 3/4 inch ball valve? it would be expensive but much better flow than a QEV

'Cos a 3/4" QEV is better than a BV and I have one here atm.

assuming you kept pilot volume to the bare minimum (ie only allowing it to move back 1/4 of the barrel inner diameter like for example 0.25 inches for a 1 inch barrel - this is all you need for maximum flow, anything more is wasted pilot volume) then a 3/4 QEV is more than suitable for your needs.
