well i was talking to my friend the other day about spud guns... and he said that he would pay me to build him one... so after some talking he decided he wanted me to build a small coper rifle about 1 meter in length to shoot marbles... what i am wondering is would a blow gun be good enough to let the air out fast enough... or am i going to have to build another piston valve ? or do you have any other good ideas for valves?
edit : he wants to run it at about 250 psi
250 PSI copper riffle

What's a blow valve?
Summer Projects:
CO2 tank hybrid: Gotta fix the meter
Cane gun: Needs a pilot/fill setup
1.5" piston valve gun: Almost done

If that's what he's talking about, then no, a blowgun won't be able to shoot a marble. I also wouldn't advise you to build a piston valve, since the last thing you attempted was a pneumatic made of DWV cell core ABS, "sealed" with duct tape. I would also advise your friend not to buy anything from you unless he wants to die early.

It will if he runs it at 250 psi, because seeing from the other stuff you've made you probably can't solder or sweat fittings well enough to hold that kind of pressure.super spuder wrote:it is made from copper... AKA wont explode...

well you could use a 1/4 qev to pilot. or you might be able to get away with a blowgun if your piston has orings and is a near perfect seal

A blowgun would be good enough to pilot a marble cannon but is really too small for direct flow control.
