O.K. thanks for all your inputs, I planned on using wire from a flyback transformer which is rated for 25 or 30kv. Actually I think my spark gap is smaller than 1/16" but I know it's not larger, I can't measure it since it is currently installed in my chamber.

No I have had no double feeds, the detent prevents that.

Yes the input is 1/8" npt, mine was a little smaller than normal though, so I ran my tap through it. Just make sure you get lined up right before you run it down. I used ptfe thread tape on my fittings.

Yeah I was surprised at how quick it was to pump the tank.
And it will be even quicker if you use a pressurized input.

well..... I would say maybe 30-45 min just counting pumping time. Cause you would have to give it a break every 5min. To let the pump cool down.

I have a 48ci tank. I'll fill it to 2000 psi and let you know how long it takes:)
