The next step up from a ball valve, this is esentialy a comecialy produced diaphram valve. However, they are unfortunatelly designed to open relitivly slowly to prevent "water hammer". The preformance can be improved by replacing the stock soleniod-valve vent with something with more flow. Most often, this is a blow gun, although for larger valves this can be as much as a smaller sprinkler. This opperation is often called modifying, or "modding" the valve.
