Selfcontained Semi-Auto Airsoft Pistol
Hello guys, this is my first post and please excuse my english :) This is one of many attempts at building a selfcontained semi-automatic pistol with an autonomy of at least 20 shots. This pistol uses a double action trigger, when you pull the trigger it pushes the hammer back until it hits a "ramp/...

Re: Simple machine gun.
This is the electromechanical system, which among several other things also makes this machine gun work. The servo motor is modified to rotate in one direction freely, I only use the motor and reduction gears. The potentiometer and board with electronic components were removed because they are not n...

Re: Simple machine gun.
Simple machine gun test. At the end of the video, I forgot to extract the steel bolt that acts as a ballast, and it shot out of the tube that contains the ammunition ... thankfully to the right side. He fired 60 0.23 gram 6mm rounds of airsoft, and I used auto and semi auto mode. The pressure was 7 ...

Re: Simple machine gun.
Installing the two cannons and manufacturing the ammunition magazines. I'm making 4 long tubes of 70 bbs each, to swap out while shooting. I used small ball valves, I have several, to seal the tube and be able to handle it without the bbs falling. Once fixed on the weapon, by means of a hard rubber ...

Re: Victorian "Air Cane" brought back to life
Good improvement! More than 900 fps with that lead ball? steel? ... At a short distance, say at 2 meters, you send towards the sky possibly the one who touches you.

Re: Simple machine gun.
I am going to make a video with a firing rate of no more than 6 per second. I prefer not much speed because everything is clearer to my eyes and ears. I have also tested a speed twice what I use in video, but only for testing. As I was saying, I prefer a firing rate of about 8 to 10 per second, whic...

Re: Victorian "Air Cane" brought back to life
I did not know about those numbers but my common sense tells me to be very careful, because that must hit very hard. Maybe too much for me, I don't know ...
It's still a nice job, and the valve and modifications are excellent.

Unusual Ammo and Barrel Construction
Hi all, I’ve been away from the forums for a while, but have definitely been tinkering with some old and new projects! I’m back asking for thoughts on an interesting design challenge I’ve been given. I’ve been asked to design and build a launcher that shoots full bagels... Now naturally, I could sho...

Re: Balanced Hammer Valves
Mine does vent the area in front of the piston to atmosphere. A threaded rod serves as the valvestem. I filed it flat on one side to create a vent through the piston/poppet towards the barrel and hammer. So the third picture is accurate. This should also mean that once the valve opens pressure can fl...

Re: Unusual Ammo and Barrel Construction
Thanks for the inspiration! I've never truly left, but I got a serious engineering job out of school and that's moved me into an apartment and diverted my attention towards some more electronic/computer projects The more I think of it, the better a "frisbee" orientation seems to me, as far as the qu...

Re: Unusual Ammo and Barrel Construction
You could make a combustion cannon and toast those bagels on their way out! Just kidding, that's probably a terrible idea. Honestly, I think the best option is to build something different. I'm thinking go watch the slingshot channel on youtube and get some rubber-powered ideas to launch the bagels....

Re: Unusual Ammo and Barrel Construction
Absolutely love the idea. A couple of thoughts and questions for the vertical bagel scenario: -If you would prefer not to do wadding, does that extend to the use of sabots? -How long of a barrel do you have in mind? Keeping the inner 'guide bar' from drooping (assuming no sabot) would be a trick on ...

Re: Victorian "Air Cane" brought back to life
La investigación posterior reveló que el resorte se había deslizado sobre el hombro de la válvula, obviamente el diámetro máximo estaba demasiado cerca. That's what I mean when I say that mechanics always teach me something, when I do tests, and I think that most of the time, first there is the fac...

Re: Victorian "Air Cane" brought back to life
Mi estilo de ingeniería tiende a ser ... "optimista" ... por lo que generalmente se necesitan algunos intentos antes de hacerlo correctamente, como debería haberlo hecho en primer lugar. :rollo: In this way mechanics works, (and many other subjects of knowledge, if not all), when they are giving us...
