my idea... for 1 1/2 female adapter i cut 1 1/4 schedule 40 tubing into about 2/8 thick rings... this left a little room for tape to be added but...

thats fine... i used it on my female/male adapter gun and it stays right in there... works well with just about any size rings as long as they fit in...
