If it's for your own use, just take the model and modify it. If you're going to publish it, either post it in this thread with attribution, or publish it as "modified from model by ..."

There's absolutely nothing wrong with using them, especially if you give proper attribution if you eventually publish them. They were made public, with the above commentary.

If it's for your own use, and you're not going to publish the model, there is absolutely nothing that stops you doing so apart from your own laziness.
