TAC 6 How to video
Haven't posted in a while. This is the instruction video for the what evolved from the 'ol contest cannon (which can barely be seen in the upper right corner).

I totally meant to scoot the table and instead wrecked the whole thing.
Customers get provided with a detailed instruction sheet taped to the barrel. The marketing department suggested that some people can't, or can't be bothered to read so I made a short video.

However, you cannot aim upside down, only dent the garage doorYou can also shoot upside down.
Don't worry, we all think you're awsome! The beanie is to cover my bald spot and make me look hipper and cooler than I really am.

Ramses, yeah it's venturi. It's simple and always works.

Since timing is rather key to the functioning of this launcher, wouldn't it be beneficial to install some sort of timing mechanism that beeps or lights up once the optimal fuel ratio has been achieved? One could even go so far as to make fueling a one touch motion, leaving fuel addition to a circuit of some sort. I'm not saying I could do it (electronics might as well be braile), but it would be the next step I think.
so many muchness

Is it possible to shorten filling/venting time by increasing the flow ?Ramses, yeah it's venturi. It's simple and always works
uhmm ok 4 seconds is OK for most ppl, but don't you think that if you shorten that to 0.5 second you could call it a semiauto ?

I've thought about doing this, but not only would it add what I feel is an unnecessary amount of additional complexity, it would substantially increase the price.
The nature of the venturi is that it is impossible to over fuel once the regulator is dialed in.
If anything, I would add an electric lockout to prevent unauthorized use or accidental discharge. I can't tell you how many times I've shocked the piss out of my hands and once I fire-balled my face.

It ended up that the most cost effective solution to fueling was to just scavenge the venturi off a Bernzomatic blowtorch. It unfortunately limits the fuel and air flow. Adding more venturii or making a larger one would enable faster fueling, but cost more.
I've got a design in the works that does this, but I haven't pulled the trigger on prototyping it yet.

I have been looking at the design and looking to see if it would be possible to modify it so the pump action pumps in a volume of air (air pump) and at the same time operate a fuel meter like is on the ShureShot launchers. It would enable fast pump action and would meter the air and fuel together in a fuel and air purge stroke.
Maybe with your resources, you will beat me to building one.

A simple limit switch is probably the simplest solutionIf anything, I would add an electric lockout to prevent unauthorized use or accidental discharge. I can't tell you how many times I've shocked the piss out of my hands and once I fire-balled my face.
Though you'd have to make sure that it won't arc
ohh and there are key lock switches too

@Technician1002
That was actually my first prototype. It didn't work very well.

There are a couple of reciprocating fueling designs out there, but you grossly overestimate my resources.
I've kicked around something along these lines:
And then there is this beast:

That key switch is EXACTLY what I had in mind.

LOL
nice diagrams I almost jizzed myself
it looks a lot like the design I want to use for the semiauto hybrid
Nice... you could use one 3 way valve to replace the two 2 way valves

@ Poland - I needed a way to actuate a valve using air pressure. Most valves are air piloted, not actuated. The Clippard components allowed me to do this.
All this got dumped for the insanely simple current setup:
Hell, I don't even have a gauge on it anymore.
