So I'm gonna have to vote this one a no. Although I am somewhat interested in pyrotechnics, such as smoke bombs for paintball, I don't think it belongs here. A while back, someone posted a video of a guy looking down the barrel of his cannon because it wasn't firing. We've heard a couple horror stories about people doing stupid things with their cannons, like frog boy. My point is, people do incredibly stupid things with cannons as it is and get hurt, we don't need to give them another tool.

Judging from MrCrowley's response, he is merely re-iterating a post from rougesci. The comment isn't pointed towards you or anyone.jrrdw wrote:Who was that directed at? Me, because if it was, you missed my point entirely. I'm not lazy either, anything but. I told no one how to behave either. I merely stated the facts. Unless your a member over there, you wouldn't know anyway. Whats up with this rant???cdheller wrote: Quote:
ok, sure i understand people dont like n00b's asking stupid questions but complaing that i dont capitalize my i's, thats just pathetic.
Wrong! You're pathetic to come here and tell us how to behave! You could call it a privilege not to have been bannend on sight for your laziness anyway, and now you have the audacity... I'm wasting my time. Banned .
I vote No. Same reasons
Bring your "A" game to roguesci.org,

I think I'll probably wait to post the 30x handheld hybrid on Roguesci. At only 48" long, and with about half the power of a 30-06, it would be significantly more impressive than a cannon the size of a small building that takes loads of time to set up and fire. Of course, the handheld hybrid is currently competing with the plasma gun for funding, as either project could get rather expensive (read ~$1k for the finished product).
_Fnord was right when he said that pyrotechnics will be allowed on Spudfiles the day that the government stops trying to protect people from natural selection. I couldn't have put it any better myself.

i went on it to see what all the fuss was about and that stupid noob post montering is silly, they were saying it might takes weeks for a post to come throughand not some 'noob'

Quite simply, No, there are too many dips***s that would do something and get blown to smithereens, then spudfiles gets the bad rap. If you just search google for Ryan Meerdink, you will see all kinds of news articles about someone who as far as we can tell used smokeless power in PVC.
I indulge in a few bits of "destructive chemistry", but I'm always careful about it. I'm possibly one of the safest people on this forum - I know a lot of people don't use eye or ear protection, I never fail to do so.
Fortunately, chemistry requires some brain power to do, so people aren't blowing themselves up left, right and centre.
Spudguns don't require so many brains, and if you put information about pyro on this site then you'll get people looking at it, copying and then making Mr Meerdink's mistake.

Does that thing kinda look like a big cat to you?
Man, reading that article for the second time (the article that was mentioned on this website) makes me want to punch a reporter.
They dont know s**t when it comes to creating one and making a spudgun. Damn sensationalism. Why dont we just ban guns in general?
Moral: Stupid people, do stupid s**t.

Do you really want a section where on a semi-daily basis, persons of suspect age and maturity ask in equally suspect english how to make smoke/propulsive/explosive mixtures and compounds?
Plus of course it'll cause the site to be flagged as even higher risk than before and will be more likely to have it blocked by various public and private groups filters.
Voted No.

For the lazy people, here is the article: http://www.ksfy.com/news/local/9523117.htmlRagnarok wrote:If you just search google for Ryan Meerdink, you will see all kinds of news articles about someone who as far as we can tell used smokeless power in PVC.
Very nice. That made me smile.Hotwired wrote:ask in equally suspect english

Unfortunately, a lot of people "don't know s**t when it comes to creating spudgun", even the people who have made them. And Ryan himself was one of those lots of people unfortunately.LikimysCrotchus5 wrote:They dont know s**t when it comes to creating one and making a spudgun. Damn sensationalism. It's because of those half-wits who don't follow basic safety that I cannot agree to pyro and spudguns being mixed. The ultimate decision is of course PCGUY's and I can't see him changing his previous rules, especially if 80% of people agree with them.

Very good point to point out. At time of this post 25 against, 7 for. As much as I like hearing and seeing the 'bang', I still feel theres no place here for pyrotecnics.Ragnarok wrote:Unfortunately, a lot of people "don't know s**t when it comes to creating spudgun", even the people who have made them. Another "NO." I, as well as everyone else, like the "boom" but there is a time and place for it, and this is neither.
Well, unless we suddenly get a lot of people who turn up then vote "Yes", which is very unlikely, and PCGUY can be swayed by that, then I think things are staying as they are.
You need to remember that if anyone learns anything dangerous from the site and it goes wrong, it's PCGUY that will have to handle any legal messes, and he's already risking enough of those with just a spudgun site - asking him to host information on pyro as well is too much.
