Scopes - Australian license yes/no?

I didn't know if this was off topic or not. But its to do with cannons.

Im currently building a marble/BB rifle. I have my plans and will build it this weekend.

Though I was wondering if sniper scopes where illegal to own without a license in australia?. They do have them on ebay.com.au but I wan't to be sure.

Im 99% sure that they're legal.....don't see why they would be illegal........couple people i know of have bought scopes etc...............

There are countries where it needs to specified in the license whether the sights are open or telescopic, however I doubt this is the case in Oz.

Flip, its just like a pair of binoculars, and they're not illegal, so Im sure it isnt. If someone in blue cathes you, just say you were bird watching and its convenient to rest your binoculars on top of a spudgun!!!

yes, but binoculars don't have crosshairs - then again, you could easily combine a monocular with a laser sight for example.

Oh I do think so.

Australia is tight. Anything that fires a projectile is illegal. Except foam dart guns. They class airsoft guns as dangerous Firearms. A small plastic ball shooting gun. I've been shot with many at close range and they don't hurt much.

Thats really stupid! Im sorry, but it is! Anything can become a projector/projectile, it just depends how you look at it!
I mean, think of a tennis ball shooter used at tennis academies for practising your swing, are they lethal weapons in the eyes of the government? Didnt think so, so whats the difference?

yes rifle scopes are legal in australia without a firearms licence. just go to a gun shop and ask for one, if you are in sydney i would recommend horsley park gun shop or malabar rifle shop ( only open on shooting days ). and yes i am 100% certain that they are legal. get the tasco scopes which are around $50 and make sure its not a spotting scope
