She did. She is going to go with a "Pink Panther" theme.
Every step of the way I have given her things to be responsible for in the developement. I gave her the barrel length and diameter, and the formula to find what size chamber she needed to build to get the 1.5 to 1 ratio. Before we went any further, she had to find the exact answer. She also had to research what kind of paint she needed for plastics, and what primer she needed.

If she's going to have her own gun, she's gotta work for it.

How high does your new compressor go?

120 psi.....should be enough to do some damage.

But moving on, lol. I really like how clean it is, not flashy or anything. I also like the fact that you're making your daughter do some research and work on it, it's good to see that there are parents out there raising their kids to be intelligent. If there's one thing I hate more than stupid kids, it's their breeders. But I digress...

EDIT: Oh, and you might want to put some silicone caulking over those screw heads, or something to insulate them. Your daughter is twelve and might accidentally touch them or soemthing when it fires, who knows. All I know is those piezoelectric sparkers hurt worse than you would think, lol, trust me.

lol, me and my friends used to chase each other around them. we had long, stiff copper wires, sort of like a tazer stick.

See, now it doesn't feel quite like a tazer. I'm not sure what the actual voltage is going through those wires, but I don't think it's the 50K running through a tazer. I think it hurt mainly because I wasn't expecting it. The tazer did hurt worse, but it really wasn't that bad either.

well, i heard somewhere that for like every 100 volts, its maximum sparking distance goes up by like a cm...so get out yer ruler.

I don't know, but that tazer can jump a good three inch gap. But back on topic, I'd hate to hear about the girl shocking the piss out of herself. Just guard the contacts.

Very nice gun, but I think you should insulate the ignition like paaiyan said. Not because of the risk of shock, they are pretty weak (at least the one I have is, I often shock a particular spot on my arm for fun because it makes my arm twitch . But it doesn't really hurt) but I think insulating them could prevent misfires that would occur because somthing shorted them out (like a hand )

Stunguns usually run at 350kV all the way up to 500kV atleast. I dont think you're getting a 2 to 3 mile spark gap off of anything, aside from maybe lighting.

The spark gap is based on the voltage correct, as you have to have an ample amount of voltage (no pun) to ionize the gas inbetween the two electrodes.
