Sealing Material

I know this has been asked before but whats a material that can be found easily that will make a good face seal on a pneumatic, I have all the parts for my pneumatic I just can't get a good seal. I've tried inner tube, baloons, and a few other things.

go to ace hardware and look for gasket material, or neoprene sheets. it comes in like little 6'' squares

Oh, I didn't realize you could get neoprene at local hardware stores, I thought it had to be ordered. What isle would that be under?

P.S. What's the price on neoprene?

If your other sealing faces are bolted on, make sure the bolt isn't leaking.

I never bolted them on that might be the reason, would bolting innertube to my piston work?

use an inner tube with silicone to hold it on so there is more cushion under ther inner tube.

well it does explain a bit but not a lot i guess,

now that that makes no sense.

seriously though having a flat sealing face is 50% of the seal, the other 50% is the piston face which has to be flat also.
and i dont mean flat as in "looks flat" i mean flat as in square honed i suspect it might be a bit different with pvc but with metal it pretty much needs to be perfect to get a real good seal.

may i ask you atlantis, what pressure are you running this at?

I haven't really pressurised it yet, I'm not gluing it until I'm sure it seals.
