I asked the same question to a guy at the hardware store and he said not as much as sch40 pvc. I would double check that though.

Also at Ace hardware that i go to i have the same problem i ask for neoprene rubber and those idiots went and got me a gasket and a plunger for the toilet. IDIOTS!!.

It also depends on how good you are at soldering. A hybrid using Sch 160 PVC (it's an example) could easily explode and kill the operator if the joints aren't bonded correctly.

Copper.org does have pressure-rating tables for the pressure rated types, but I thought I'd link to DWV as an example.

Clearly, even DWV copper is rated to some pretty serious pressures.

So, type DWV copper in even 2" size would be a good material for low pressure (<200psi) launchers? What kind of pressure would 2" DWV copper fittings be good for?

I know this is really off topic and hijacking the thread, but since the question has already been answered and this has to do with copper, I shall proceed: Can you weld copper to copper (not solder) and copper to metal?
(Sorry for nube/hijack question, I'm not into welding very much)

You can weld copper - not easy but you can.

You could braze copper to another metal, I don't believe that you can weld dissimilar metals (I may be wrong though, I haven't done much welding. You can braze copper tube to copper fittings. It weakens the pipe, but makes a stronger joint (apparently you can use pressure rated copper tube and fittings of any size up to 8 inch with 120 psi steam if the joints are brazed.)
On another topic, I would really like to have some 8 inch pressure rated copper tube and fittings (wouldn't we all?)

Oops, forgot to specify, sorry. I meant any other metal than copper (ie. steel, aluminium etc)
