Pouring molten metal into a mold of bondo might not be a good idea.

But, it has been done, in plaster.

Isn't bondo bascally fiberglass with some kind of filler? Or am I thinking of something else?
If you try it, freeze it first, and protect your lungs. I don't know what kind of horrible gasses bondo will expel when heated to 600 F.

I have also cast molten lead in pvc before. I buried some pipe in the dirt, but it expanded slightly so I had to pound on the slugs with a hammer to reduce the diameter.

I made a shape (skull) out of clay, placed it in some fibreglass resin, left to harden, then took the clay out and had a mold. Next I put lead sinkers into a tin can over my gas cooker and heated the lead up. Once it was molten, I slowly poured the lead into the mold and left it to cool. Once it was cool, I pulled it out.
It does work well, but remember to wear a gas mask (lead fumes are toxic) and lube your mold with a heat resistant lube (cooking spray works.)
All this was done in a glass jar!

Hi

Why not make the lead slug first, and then place it in the bondo mold on some screws or something .. then pour the bondo around it. Or is it too thick to pour?

Regards

Yeah, just put a sinker in the middle of some resin/bondo.
