I just what to share 2 new things I found for 1.5" barrels,

sabot: I found that bottles of Propel fitness water with the rim trimmed off make perfect fittng sabots for 1.5" sch40 PVC barrels, I think 3liter bottle cap also may work but I'm using them for cheap chammbers

Ammo: some of you may have a black walnut tree that drops rough green ball like objects in your yard, those are black walnuts they may not look like the edible walnuts but if you break them or let that green cover rot off you'll see, some of those smaller ones make decent fitting projectiles for 1.5"

I'll try to get some pics to show

edit:

ideal bottle I got plenty of these thanks to costco

it normally doen't fit inside but...

and volla perfect sabot

Image here what a black walnut leaf looks like along with the black walnut the more rotten one fits nicely in the barrel nice hard and biodegradable projectile

I had to shoot the tree to get a fresh leaf sample since the braches are out of reach

Is this just Sch40 1.5" barrels not golfball barrels?

@JSR: I think we've found our resident forum comedian.

My parents have one of those black walnut trees in their backyard, and they've been dropping off for quite awhile now. Let me just say that they absolutely had the damn thing; there are so many walnuts all over the place and they make such a huge mess all over the yard. Maybe I can finally make some use of them now though, finally.

That's another reason that I call one of my cannons the Yard Waste Redistributer

Redcoat, technically, this isn't a sabot, it's wadding. A sabot is some kind of material that contains the projectile meant to be fired out of a bore to big to creat a good enough seal around it. Wadding is some kind of material that is stuffed behind the projectile, usually used when firing multipe projectiles, like shotshells do.
Summer Projects:
CO2 tank hybrid: Gotta fix the meter :(
Cane gun: Needs a pilot/fill setup
1.5" piston valve gun: Almost done
