why don't you just use a friction drive?

what kind of a set up would i need? all i understand is the spindle part.

Chain ratios are easy, for a 2 stroke go for about 18-20:1 though it might be hard for you to find sprockets and chains with a decent pitch for this..

That's pretty much all it is. You attach a spindle to the motor shaft and mount the motor so that the spindle is against the wheel.

do i have to have some sort of tightner or is it as easy as bolt the motor to the scooter with the spindle on the wheel?

As long as the spindle is touching the wheel and the motor is on there and is sturdy thats what you want. If it's pressed against it too hard it will just eat up the tire but you do want it to be on there with some pressure.
