why don't you just use a friction drive?
Chain ratios are easy, for a 2 stroke go for about 18-20:1 though it might be hard for you to find sprockets and chains with a decent pitch for this..

That's pretty much all it is. You attach a spindle to the motor shaft and mount the motor so that the spindle is against the wheel.

As long as the spindle is touching the wheel and the motor is on there and is sturdy thats what you want. If it's pressed against it too hard it will just eat up the tire but you do want it to be on there with some pressure.
