Ok i am buying my PVC pipes from lowes for my gun.
i am going to have 2 ''3 inch wide, 2 feet and a half long'' air tanks for the gun. and there are both gonna join to meet the 2 inch barrel. how do i reduce the 3 inch PVC pipe to a 2 inch PVC pipe?

You are going to need 3" x 2" reducing bushings, which are not available at Lowe's. You might be able to find them at another hardware store, but if you can't, you can always get them at Mcmaster-Carr:

Part number 4880K612 at mcmaster.com

Just make sure you get sch 40 bushings, not bell reducers, which are usually DWV.

By using a 3"-2" bushing. Just make sure it's pressure rated.

Yeah basically you can't buy any fittings at lowes because they aren't meant to hold pressure.

If you are in the U.S., an irrigation supply or plumbing supply would be your best bet. If you live in Canada, then I wish you the best of luck in your doomed task.

On a side note, McMaster (which won't ship to Canada), carries pressure rated, SCH 80 bell reducers.

best bet is either McMasters, Grainger, or MSC Industrial Supply.

Grainger won't sell to individuals, and McMaster-Carr won't ship outside the U.S., just to warn you.

i got a 3 inch to 1.5 inch at home depot so you migh be able to find it there just might be cheaper.

Lowes doesn't sell pressure rated PVC. They only had DWV last time I checked.

the lowes here has pressure rated stuff. its 2'' and under though. its a limited selection, but what they have is pressure rated where i live.

the Lowes in my town has NSF-PW and no DWV. your best bet is to check each fitting.

They sell pressure rated pvc pipe, not most of the fittings though. Just because its DWV doesnt mean its not pressure rated.

No, the one near where I live sells only cell core DWV. I didn't check smaller sizes, but I remember looking for 3inch and they didn't have anything useful.
