Spark Plug

Is it possible to use a low grade spark plug to ignite the gas?
If it is, would someone please tell me approximately how to?
The problem is, my BBQ lighters' wires keep breaking due to unsecured wiring that twists them numerous times, and since these wires are very very fragile, they break after bending the wires too many times.
This constant breakage and disposal of 2 such sparkers have led me to consider using Spark Plugs
Any suggestions?
Or am I being stupid?

Well, you'll still have to have the BBQ igniter so that you have the high voltage current, unless you plan on using an ignition coil or stungun. I really don't see why a spark plug would be any better for ignition than two screws drilled through the chamber, but if you want to, it should work fine.

Sounds like you really need to come up with a way to protect the wires where they attach to the piezo.

Try something like this;


Fiddle around with various pieces of PVC pipe and fittings until you come up with something that holds the piezo securely and protects the wire connections.
