Calibre is the proper English spelling, caliber is the US corruption... depends on which side of the pond you sit

VH_man, even with a piston just over half an inch in diameter, the stresses are considerable... to scale up the design would increase the exponentially, I'd say it's not worth the hassle when compared to a conventional exhaust valve piston design.

I used 50mm PVC tubing for the chamber but 32mm will do nicely.

9x19mm parabellum is a round of European origin, hence the metric reference. We don't call the 0.45 ACP a "11.43 millimetre", do we? ;p

It's better to do it the other way round - first find ammo you whant to use (preferably cheap and easily available f.e. marbles) then find a barrel that fits them

I like your trigger Idea. One question, Is there a spring on the trigger, and how does it reset itself?

You have to push in the plunger and lift the trigger manually to reset.

Could you make it semi auto by having a compressor feed and a reasonably strong spring behind the plunger so it closes once the chamber preasure drops below a certain level

I could, but I've developed other much more effective semi-auto mechanisms in the years after this project was built.
