Coaxial Vortex Block

Here's my new theory: a coaxial vortex block.

The vortex block would be at the back the BB chamber (facing forwards), and an end cap behind it. The barrel would go directly in the center of the BB chamber all the way through to the front, like a normal coaxial pneumatic. A spring from the front of the gun (the front end cap would have a hole in it for the barrel of course) would be pushing a washer backwards towards the vortex block. Just like how other inline vortex guns do, but just backwards. The hole in the center of the washer would be slightly larger than the OD of the barrel because the washer goes around the barrel.

I'm hoping that this will not only save space but increase the ROF as well. Especially if the vortex block has the front bottom part cut off like noname's new design.

i can almost picture what your describing here and ive never seen one made like this. your design would allow the pistol grip to be at the back kinda like a ww2 grease gun. i hope you build it!

and i have <a href="http://www.spudfiles.com/forums/vortex- ... 28.html">a working prototype</a> well semi working by my standards it was supposed to be a self powered pistol but i have not acquired the remaining pieces for a mini reg'ed co2 system. but it firers just fine when hooked up to an air compressor blowgun. i don't trust the new vortex block design i don't see it as boosting performance much and it also seems like it would jam easier.

Singularity, i fyou made it right, it shouldn't jam. That's all there is that I can really tell you. I sell all my vortex blocks with all the new modifications and everything, for maximum performance. I've made around 20 blocks with the front of the bottom filed away, and there's nothing wrong with them.

but your blocks are designed to have the bbs forced from behind them not in front of them like it would in this pistol design, i don't know i just dont think its the right thing to use in this case. well i suppose a really weak spring would be fine.... and when i said i don't trust the new design i meant in this particular case

I usually leave a 3/32" or so thick ridge on the front of the block, so that it's still stable in the body of the gun, but eliminated that would allow feeding from the front, and would probably have an even higher ROF.

Don't let it get you down. It just shows that there are people out there who have similar ideas. When those minds meet, it's most likely that any and all bugs will be worked out!
