I know what it sounds like on a pneumatic, but I've never been stupid enough to recreate the same causes for a combustion.
Novacastrian: How about use whatever the heck you can get your hands on?
frankrede: Well then I guess it won't matter when you decide to drink bleach because your out of kool-aid.
...I'm sorry, but that made my year.

I am surprised there was no wrrssssshhhh option

like all that gas just barely hissing behind your projectile.

as for smoke in your chamber thats from a chamber fire, like hairspray or something else burning up inside. (wadding) (the sock)

the only things I've ever jammed are rocks, spray paint cans, 2X4s, and towel wrapped 6 pound slugs.

this is pretty random, but the other day, me my best friend, and the german foreign exchange student named Inigo staying with him (also one of my friends)well, anyway, we shot a cellphone through a car hood.

tee-hee!!! (that was supposed to be some form of giddy laughter)

It won't explode if you're not using solid propellant, since most liquid and gas propellants don't produce enough pressure to cause any problems, but with a solid fuel, if you put in too much, it will still ignite, making big problems.

You'll be OK if it jams as long as you stay away from the barrel and keep your face away when you open it.

I imaging there are far worse things you could do. I mean really, if you screw up, you burn your hand. Big deal. If the touch hole(flame) isn't huge, chance are your hand will be fine in a week or two.

Of course, touch holes aren't very efficient, but they aren't really that dangerous so long as you watch what you are doing.
Sjog, I know exactly what I'm doing witht ouch-holes, I've been firing by them for over a year and had no incident or problems.
Only incompetence and immaturity could make this method fail.
Plus i wear gloves.(Welding ones :D )

I'm a shot gun user and firing on an obstructed barrel is a no no
But the shot gun uses solid propellent

And the shotgun is designed to use solid propellant.

barrels are fairly durable.

but if you care for your stuff you wouldnt jam the end full of mud to begin with.
