This used to be a broad head but I took the blades off because they wouldn't
fit in the barrel. My friend however kept the blades on his because they were smaller and fit into the barrel.

Very nice. That's darn good damage for such a small gun. And a ball valve to boot.

I wonder if that marker body would work better if the butt was cutoff? It would remove some of the weight from the butt of the shell making it more aerodynamiclly stable. It might also let the body of the marker expand and better seal the barrel when fired.

Hey, take the big fragment of the marker body and a heavy gauge nail. Heat the nail up and shove it into the open end of the marker body until it's tip melts it way through the "butt" of the marker body. You now have another shell with an open butt end and a cheapo steel tip.

(note to self: start collecting old crayola marker bodies)

This makes me ask, has anyone ever used the folding broadheads on a dart. I would think that the crossbow bolt heads that have the spring loaded blades would fit in some size of pipe reasonably tight.

I guess though that you would have to have a nice breechloading system of some sort though. You couldn't muzzleload.

Anyway awesome damage pics and really neat dart design, how tight does the marker body fit in the barrel?

I find many markers fit well in a 3/4" cal barrel, here's a can shot with one (without the benefit of a penetrating head)
