G'day guys,
To all aussie's who have made something that fires a bb, knows that airsoft is illegal in Australia. They also know how hard it is to find any bb's in Aussie.
So with this said, does anyone know how much the small hole in a 6mm plastic craft bead will affect its flight path and performance? Craft beads are just so so cheap. 3000 for 5 bucks. You just can't go wrong.
6mm Craft bead flight
If you don't want to speculate on what it'll do if you leave it then just plug the little hole
Something puttyish should stay in fine.

I meant a piece of wire as long as the bead diameter.

It sounds like a good idea for the first ten beads, then when he looks at the other 2990 beads....
Unless you guys know of a faster way to do that to a whole bag of beads.

you could put multiple beads onto a length of wire, that could be pretty cool, it would look like u were shooting a bracelet.
There isn't really a problem as such. It's just the nail darts take a while to make and only last one shot before they blow apart and a bb is just alot easier. By the way, I don't actually use the bb's on the darts. they are made with some plastic tube, a nail and a bit of cotton.
My innitial question was that I was just curious to know how much the hole in the center of the bead will effect it's flight compared to a normal airsoft bb.

if they have a small hole, for like really thin wire like fisihing wire, then it shouldnt matter but if its a biggish hole, it might make a difference.
I bought my BB barrel from bunnings, closest i could get was ID of 7mm. i just wrap the BB in a bit of tape, and fold the excess over. muzzle load it and then fire. shoots much faster because the bb is practically jammed in the tube and needs a fair bit of PSI to get it out.
another ammo source that is dearer, is lead ball sinkers. if there on sale you can often get a pack of about 50 for $3 or $4.
hope that helps.
