my uncle found a 7ft piece of 4inch sch40 on the side of the road and brought it for me. i was wondering if it is safe to use since it probably fell of of a truck going like 50 mph.

thanks,

Personally I wouldn't. I dropped a barrel on my garage floor, pretty hard once. About 2 months later my buddy was shooting it and the barrel exploded. It was 2" sched 40 pvc. It wasn't the thousand fragment grenade people describe. It broke into 6 sharp edged, good sized pieces, the furthest of which only flew about 15 feet. Don't know what happened to the potato. Oh, and my friend got a little cut on his arm. It wasn't bad, but I still wouldn't want it to happen to me. I wouldn't use it. Just me though.

yeah I probably won't use it. I have had a pipe blow on me before too but it wasn't because of dropping the pipe it was because of me and my friends stupidity. we made a dry ice gun out of cell core. it left a 2inch deep hole in my garage wall and a cut on my leg.

I'd use it, its perfectly fine for combustions, maybe pneumatic, but how would you know that it fell from a truck, its not like it was pressurized and more vulnerable
I'd be more concerned with UV damage is the pipe at all yellowish compared to true fresh white pvc

try using the bits without scratches. and you should be fine also look for cracks up the pipe.

Make a big ass combustion, is there any hairline cracks? If not it should be ok. If used in a pneumatic with your 2"piston valve don't crank the pressure. 100psi max. Be safe good luck.

Yeah, Agreeing with the masses here. You could risk it. I think it could work for your average "Spay n' Pray" (to use JSR's wording  ).

But after a while it would start failing. Definitely don't recommend it for a pneumatic or hybrid or Advanced Combustion.

screw the saftey I "don't" have money

thats a hybrid man, this is solid straight pipe that has light scratches
I'd patch any stuff with epoxy and have fun maybe wrap it in duct tape

I'd use it, I've dropped 4" pvc sch 40 pipe off my roof and some blew of my car when I was taking it home and I still use dit in combustions and pneumatics with no failures yet. If you're really worried just use it for a big combustion.

I guess the resident old guy here (being me) is being over-cautious. . .
