Chamber Fan

What do i use to run my chamber fan? I hooked up a 9 volt to my fan and it didnt do anything. I thought that computers were switched over to DC. Do i need a AC power source and what would i use to do this? If you know how these work give me a briged version of the whole workings. Please!!!!

your fan may be broken, that happens sometimes, make sure you're touching positive to positive and negative to negative, it should work, stick your tongue between the prongs of a 9 volt see if you get a lil shock, if you dont then the battery is dead

Ya thats the thing the battery works and the - and+ are hooked up right. It says 12 v but i would of thought a 9 v would work fine. One more thing can you run two fans at once of the same battery?

i've run 6 at once, its fine the fan is probably broken

Ok it works now becasue i got a real attachment for a 9 v battery. Before i was wiggiling it around in the little heads. Im planning on using the altiod box idea for my fans but the interworkings will be slightly different.

I'm glad you got it working. A 9v will make it not spin as fast as normal, but it works fine for spudcannon use.

Is there such a thing as a 12 v battery?

hmmm, yes I think i remember seeing some lithiums that wer 12v but they were pretty expesive i tink.

the recharable electric drill batteries are 12v.

but why use that when a 9 will work fine? it'd be cheaper just to use 9 volts

I was just wondering if there was a 12v battery so i could get the most speed out of my fan. Here is my altiods control box. One side will have the + going to it and on the other side of the switch i will have 2 + coming out will this work? Ive only istalled the switch before going any further wanted to make sure what to do. Tell me if you like it so far

Thanks seeing as how easy it is to buy off the internet i might buy it. Before though ill do a little of shopping around.

I do belive that 12 volt batteries are the ones you find in RC ars. They're normally rechargeable, so If you have an old RC, cannabalize it for parts.
