So the shaft of the arrow plus the fins just provides a good seal by themselves? You don't have a sabot?

I usually use some 1/2" wooden dowel rod.

Whoops, I should have mentioned this; I use a small cone akin to those on homemade blowgun darts, but very short as they don't need to provide stabilization because of the vanes. The decrease in velocity is minimal, and it is much easier to reload than when using a sabot.

Well actually, while on the topic, i need to create some type of dart because after i finish my piston gun with a 3/4 inch barrel, i want to put a hole in a quarter, (its been my dream to shoot Washington dead on right in the head, then we can say we assasinated another president :D ) Yea so im am going to be looking for a good, accurate dart design. Would a hot glue mold with a nail sticking out of it be a good dart. Im just not sure because i think it might be heavy for 3/4 inch. But if its good, then what else can i do to a 3/4 inch hot glue dart to make it more accurate?

P.S. I am gonna shoot a nail throught a dime, because i nevr seen pics of that posted. Man am i an assasin :P We all are assasins inside

on topic: this gun looks quite nice. I dont think it would have sufficient accuracy to humanly kill a dear.

I was planning a similar device that shoot corks with a skyrocket cone on top... But, I live in the city and my mom may prevent me from doing so...

Um... I don't quite get it. Could you post a picture or something? And I think we'd all still like to see some damage pics!
