I have a theory about a (new) type of gun,
i had a idea about a gun that fires 8g co2 cartridges. its a simple gun that had a toy revolver on the back of the barrel and a breech loading. the toy revolver has a needle on the ting that moves forward and makes the little tings explode. the needle pieces the back of the co2 cartrides and the cartrides are fired out of the barrel from the pressure that was releast.
will this work.

If i got it right, you want to fire little CO2 cartridges by sticking 'em into a barrel, with a percusion pin behind, and rupting the back of it is it right?
in that case, yeah, it would work, but careful when doing that mate, you need a consistent wall thickness for your barrel, and forget about PVC....

i suggest you make it out of two copper pipes sleeved one in the other, to add extra weight and strength. Your percusion pin should be in a very small pipe with very strong spring and a "anti-return" mecanism. (As the pressure builds up fast, you don't want the pin to go backwards like a projectile. I had a pressure gauge pop out to my chest, and man that big bruise last 3 weeks)

Hmm, I don't know about Dutch law, but a design like that might qualify as a full firearm - it certainly would in the UK.
You'll need at least copper, and a toy revolver isn't even going to start to cut it in terms of what you'd need to pierce the cartridge base. If you're hitting a free moving 8g bulb, then a pneumatic ram is a minimum, otherwise you'll either do nothing, or just flick the bulb out of the barrel without piercing it.
Either that or you need an impact explosive on the rear of the bulbs to blast them open, but that's ill advised, and shouldn't be done.

hmm it sounds like an intersting project, i think you would be better making a regular pnuematic using co2 to fill the chamber, this thread shows you how to work out how many oz of co2 you need http://www.spudfiles.com/forums/viewtop ... tml#131065 to fill you chamber.

yes but it think he will get better performance from using a more convential setup...

I doubt you'll get good performance as the hole in the nozzle will be too small, you'll need a long tight fitting barrel for a reasonable velocity. Also, you have to consider adding some sort of tail or fins for each capsule as it will begin to tumble as soon as it leaves the barrel.
Launchers for CO2 dragsters like this one typically use spring-loaded firing pins to break the seal so you'll have to make a similar mechanism. The concept would be similar to the German WW2 Puppchen launcher which I described here

The cartridge is heavy and the nozzle is small, however what you do have on your side is that the CO2 is at very high pressure. In a long barrel - I'm thinking at least a metre and a half in length - you would probably get a decent velocity, but again without any sort of fins accuracy would suffer.

I have made gun that shotted 12g co2 capsules... and when i shot the capsule it went only about 10 meters ,the main problem was that the co2 inside the capsule freezed when it was shotted,and when co2 is cold the pressure drops very much. sorry my bad english 
and this cannon was made with lathe and the barrel was hydraulic steel pipe .so you cant blame the gun
