Any ideas on how to open a simple ball valve faster than just with your hand?
I'm looking for a smooth way to open it so i may be able to look down the barrel while firing. I remember seeing a pneumatic that could do it before but i forgot where i found it and how it worked.

If you do find anything please post it and how to make it. Thanks.

Spring power! Get a reasonably tight spring and have it so that when you pull a pin the spring yanks the ball valve open.

Can you post a Picture of what one looks like?
Thx for link. (Is there anyplace that actually shows how to build it? Because that would be real helpful too.)

It may be a little far fetched for this design, but somewhere (I tried to find the link but I couldn't) there was someone who actually built a small pneumatic ram to actuate his ball valve.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOO, LOL OMG IM AN IDIOT, WOW, i was thinking of him looking down the other way, ook my bad. Um for the design, it would be kindof hard to do so. But possible, just gotta spring load it.

@ Hub , it was that strange looking gun right? With air lines all over the place and like two different air chambers?

It was something to that effect. I remember the guy had DWV and was criticized for it. It was also blue and yellow.

Oh hubb i think i have seen that cannon with all the painting and the hoses, but using a smaller pneumatic to actuate a ball valve on a small pneumatic is kind of pointless

Its really simple, the spring is used to pull the valve open, get that ?
So the valve is pulled closed and then a pin is used to hold it that way, and the spring is now pulled open and is putting a force on the valve handle trying to close it. Once the pin is pulled out the spring pulls the valve open with great force. As for specifics I cant help you, I would say its gonna be a lot of guess and check. And in the long run I would suggest a modded sprinkler valve, up to you though.

I guess, but as someone was saying before with my design and no actual stock it would be hard to do, i just want a accurate way to fire this thing because it took my like 10 tries to hit a soda can with one of the darts. When i did hit it, it flew straight through it was awsome

If your really set on making it spring loaded then good luck, but really bite the bullet and get a sprinkler valve. So much easier and it will allow you to shoot accurately.

How much does a sprinkler valve cost anyway? and i'm not the greatest with tools so how hard do you think it would be to mod it?
