Hose clamps are your friend Metal, if you position the sight at the tip of your barrel it should be easily adjustable by packing either end.

WOW, I was just thinking about how this thread was insanely highjacked. Sorry, Twitch.

As far as your question, here's a couple pennies from me:
It seems like you are trying to model yours after Revolver X. I would suggest studying up on that design and incorporate some of the theories used there.
