Well on my late night travel home from work I noticed some sch80 pipe laying on the wrong side of a construction fence. Then I noticed an offcut about 2 feet long. Needless to say I "borowed indefinitely" the pipe for my now advanced combustion. Its 600mmx150mm. Unfortunately theres gonna be some DWV involved . Just thought I'd let ya's know about my "discounted" hardware and to look for an advanced combustion in the near future.

No problems with discounts are there?

Either that or they wanted to throw it out anyways, I don't think small sections of pipe are as useful in construction as they are in spudguns.

It may not hurt to ask the guys if they have any more scrap pieces. You'll be suprised what you'll score (and it's legal).

I've found that there is alot of pressure rated pipe on powerpoles, they use them to bundle all the wires going up the pole into one pipe.

If you see one getting taken down to be put underground (run the wires underground) ask if you can have the pipe that goes with it.

i've seen the pipe as small as 1/2" and as big as 3"

That pipe MrCrowely is conduit and it often has a thicker wall then pressure rated piping to equivalent size because they don't want any nasty arcking electricity to escape out through the side,and it's not compatable with PN fittings.But there is one size of the pipe that is a perfect fit for marbles,it requires a ram rod get them down the barrel.

Nah it's PN10, 12 and sometimes 18.

Trust me I know my pipe and it isn't conduit. It also has 'pressure rated' or something on the pipe which isn't that common but it does have a PN rating and my old school where I work every now and then also uses pipe for similar applications and it's exactly the same as the powerpole stuff and has a PN rating, and it's compatable with pressure fittings because it is pressure pipe.

Most of the pipe on powerpoles are conduit, but where I live most poles have at least 15mm pressure pipe and usually 40mm or 50mm as well. but I did see some 80mm.

Trust me it's the same stuff you find at plubming merchants.

I do know my pipe very well and I never fully rely on 'eyeing' up a piece of pipe for it's rating, if it's rated it will say so on the pipe.

Just try not to question my pipe knowledge in the future unless I really have made a mistake, I always read what's on the pipe, the pipe knows all.

Im pretty sure. Its got sch80 pvc on the side and despite my isolation I have acces to sch80 from 15mm up to 2 inches. No solenoid valves tho

I wouldn't be surprised if it's really Scho80, my Dads old Mitre10 store stocked Sch40 fittings.

I think they were left over from when it was an ITM so that Sch80 could be old, back when we used to import from the US I think.
