Would Stainless steel pipe with and ID of .674" fit 68cal paintballs? If not what pipe would?

think. .674 caliber pipe for .68 caliber paint. the only way this would work was if you found slightly smaller paint

It might be a tight fit.

0.006 is not a big number.

but from my experience with paintball, that .006 plus the pressure he would be suggesting would equal alot of paint breaking in the barrel

It really depends on what brand of paint you buy. If you buy the cheaper stuff, the size will vary and some paintballs will fit, others won't. Unless you want to spend $60 for a case of tournement paint...

yeah if you spend a shit load of money you might find paint that is consistent in size and shape. that might work

Its not worth it unless you happen to have it already. I only use my "good" paint for tournements, but $60 a case for the good stuff or $20 for something else? $20 defianetly beats the other and you MIGHT get consistent paint.

If you wanted re-usuable paint balls then look into buy some Reballs. They're actually just rubber with a coating on the outside. We used them for practice because we could shoot as much as we want, pick them up with a shop-vac and play again. They're also a smaller bore then normal paintballs too. Our team developed a barrel insert with SmartParts to fit them-but the size is .664 and they are all very consistent. If you wanted some let me know, I can get you quite a few for cheap.

plang's got the right idea. I've used aluminum tubing from McMaster before to make paintball barrels. The paint's fit is great and the tubing it easy to work with. Make sure not to use a tubing cutter on the muzzle end, because it decreases the ID by a little.
