This topic has been floating around for a while now and seems to be pretty popular. If you think about it, does life actually have a meaning?

Now, it was said that it is the journey we live for. But the end is always the same result; death. So, what do the journeys accomplish (maybe tapping into a religious subject). One man does something and the next man does something different. But the end is always the same.

I'm having a hard time accepting the fact that we search for the end, because it is always the same. It is the main goal whether we like it or not. I think that the thing we search for (i.e. the meaning of life) is something we know nothing about.....but I do.

The meaning of Life is to get make more money than your friend when you retire :wink:

@JSR: I never found that MP's meaning of life was up to the standards of Holy grail and Life of Brian. It did have a machine that went ping though...

"More apparatus please nurse: Bring in the E.E.G., the B.P. monitor, and the A.V.V... And get the machine that goes ping!!!"

One of the funniest MP things I ever saw was the Holy Grail DVD - I'd just watched the film, and my family were browsing the extras. We selected the "Hard of Hearing" option...
to which you are greeted by a very loud and slow voice (you know, the sort of thing people try on foreign holidays to get the shop assistant to understand) reading out all the options on the screen.
For some reason it was one of the funniest things I have ever heard, because it was so unexpected.

One of the other things on my list of the funniest things of all time was the end of the QI Discoveries episode when they were talking about US patent 4320756, one of the daftest things man has invented.

@MrC: Don't ask me... I don't know.

Well done Rag :wink:

Gotta love that song.

The funniest MP I have ever seen was the Broadway show in Vegas this year, 'Spamalot', Broadway version of Holy Grail.

I think the meaning of life is what ever you want it to be. You set a goal, or have a standard of how you would like your life to turn out.

If near the end, you reflect back and think you had a good life and achieved most of what you wanted, maybe that was your means to life.

Actually, there's a silly story about how I came across it. I was watching youtube videos about a year back, my brother came up and said "watch something else", I asked "What?" to which his response was "I don't know".

And because I'm a very silly person, that's exactly what I typed in to the search bar.

i saw that this year... but obviously not in Vegas, i saw it in london, although there was a bit of a dodgey moment when the song about Jews was sung because it felt like everyone was a bit uncomfortable with it, did you have that in the american show?

edit:

Indeed, such stupidity, it was nearly fatally funny - but not many programs have ever had anyone die laughing watching them...

<educational>
Most notably, the Goodies had such an achievement in 1975 with their "Kung Fu Kapers" episode, which basically involved Bill Oddie running around belting people with black puddings.

Unless of course you've been told the funniest joke in the world... and we're back to Monty Python again.

That scene featuring British troops running through no-man's land while reading the joke is simply priceless :D

Not really but because i'ts Vegas, everyone probably thought it was to be accepted. I mean things like that you really just need to move on with.

You would have to weigh your options really. Is it more honourable to die, or to have to tell your grandkids you survived by breathing through someone's digested lunch? Surely that's one fire escape story that would be slightly modified :)

It'd be a shame if you were waving a match around to 'get rid of the smell' and it caught the curtains on fire, leaving you with that air apparatus to live....

Still I think i'd take my chances with a bar of soap, the window and a superman-like dive. :)
