Should i take to the next level?

In my new house that i will shortly be moving into i will have the space in the garage for a 6 or 7 ft long workbench.I could make holes to organize and store pipe in it i could create a fitting organizer and install a heater for drying fittings faster i could give my self a good swivel chair and i have an old tv laying around that i could hook up.Yes it would be a pain and yes it wont be cheap but spudding is my true one and only hobby and i am willing to dedicate alot to it.But i still ask you guys is a big workstation custom built for spudding worth it?

If properly setup and not using an ammo purposely designed for penetration then a box of towels could stop most of the guns on this site. Yours is one of the few exceptions, but I would say even that could be stopped if the box was deep enough. Of course the box would be trashed and you would have towels fused to your ammo, but I think it could be stopped without doing significant damage to the surroundings.

Well, a big enough box of towels could stop almost anything, couldn't it? The question is how big a box one would need. A box a few feet deep filled with tightly packed towels would make a pretty good backstop... *goes off to the drawing board*

I agree with your point SB15. The real trick (and the thing I've been pursuing for a while) is the launcher that is both awesomely powerful, and always fun to shoot. It will be a while before I achieve such a thing, but I'm certainly coming closer. The remake I mentioned in another thread amounts to the next step along that trail.

Yea sb15 is right im not ito things over 1.5 inch barrel size id rather have a pneumatic steel piston gun (coming soon) that can punch a steel slug through a computer than a huge gun that can send that computer flying back 4 feet but without that sheer penetration power.

The fact that i can walk around with my gun makes it more fun for me i guess.

I agree with everything everyone's said. I'm in a heavily populated city environment, and am mostly confined to my basement for shooting purposes. Also, I can't afford an air compressor, so that's a huge limiting factor for size. Pumping two five foot 2" chambers up to 100 psi isn't fun at all.
Don't get me wrong, I enjoy destruction cannons that blow crap high into the sky, but I'd rather have a gun that sends a nail dart through a small surface, piercing a small target with deadly accuracy. Sniping is more fun than bombing.
As to the actual topic, I'd fully recomend your new work area. Afterall, you need a good environment to make good cannons! A TV might be a bit overkill, but if you have on lying around, it can't hurt. I however would recomend you get a computer of some sort in there so you can acces spudfiles to look stuff up when the moment calls for it. Also, make sure you don't have any fire hazzerds lying around the space heater like PVC primer, cement, and propane/MAPP. My parents always nag at me since there's an open flame where I work (the furnace) and I produce a fair ammount of dust and frequently need to work with flamables. I assume you can provide an air compressor?
