Loose Fittings????

Sorry if this sounds noob
I am building a sprinkler valve rifle and it has a 3/4 inch stock tat is going to be pressurized to 100 + psi. when i first bought the fittings and pieces, they were hard to put together(I guess thats what primer is for-softening the pieces) but since i just put the fittings together many times, it has become easy to slide the pvc all the way into the fitting. Is this a problem or am i just being neurotic?

It shouldnt be a problem as long as the outside diameter of the pipe was not reduced at all.
I am oblivious to why this happend the only explination I can think of is maybe you accedintly got some lube on it the pipe or something like that.

Well...primer isn't really to soften up joints or barrels. The primer is used to chemically burn a little bit of the PVC so that the glue can join the two glued pieces as ONE whole pvc section.

your completely wrong sofening up the pvc to prepare it for bonding is exactly what its for.

Ack. Sorry if you didn't understand me clearly enough. What i meant was it chemically burns the surface so that the glue would adhease much better.-Takes the "melted" pvc and glues them together-

So what you ment by melted was softens because it doesnt melt it or chemicly burn the surface it just softens it.

Sort of...

The glue actually bonds two pieces -or more- of pvc into one whole one.
Try putting some primer onto the printed words of some pvc, you'll see that it smears and comes off, thats what i meant by chemically burning. It does that so the glue can join the two sections into one.

so you screwed up several times when cementing well now it would qualify as being done wrong and will look like crap, but I wouldn't worry about safety it'll just look ugly. but now make sure you give it over 24 hours of cure time (yes that includes even after the cement dries)

Ohh okay now I know what you meant it doesnt burn the lettering off it dissolves it off.
