It's bugging me the way a load of things are practically identical in cost numericaly between UK/US, the only difference being a little currency symbol...jackssmirkingrevenge wrote:I just bought this chrony new for less than 80 bucks.

This place sells them for $70, probably less for shipping from one off eBay too (although maybe not for outside the US). This is where I got mine.

ShowNoMercy Asco Pulse Valve
Yes it is closer to a sprinkler valve because it has a diaphragm not a piston.
A bunch of us bought them off Ebay CHEEP $18 ? I think. It has a parts kit for rebuilding. Great deal for a fast valve.
edit CLIDE DABERNO Hey, do you have to shoot thru the ' diffuser rods'? Mine has some cardboard cut outs that are to be shot thru . I shoot over the top and it works fine. Oh ya it is old!

No, you don't really need the diffuser rods. I don't use mine at all. They might help if you are having trouble picking up a small, fast moving projectile, but for most spud guns the speed is low enough or the projectile is big enough that it doesn't have any problems.

I don't use the diffuser rods when i shoot through it either, I believe if it is a very sunny day you should use them because the white plastic things on top allow it to pick up the projectile easier against the white background.
While i'm at it what are the specs for this thing. I have the same valve and i'm planning on using it for a gun soon.
Do you know the burst pressure on the diaphram? cuz with an all metal body you can go way higher than 110 psi.

I was just wondering cause I got one too, and I have pretty much looked at it alot and thought about what to use it for. If your getting 500 fps with a GB then maybe I will build something similar. How much psi are you taking it too?

That's exactly what i was thinking, 500 fps with a golfball is fast! He's taking it to 110 psi.
I'll probably use mine for a GB cannon, how about you?

Well right now I have it set up on a paint ball rifle which is a tad bit overkill shall we say? I was thinking to use it for a paint ball shotgun instead. But what I meant before was what Max pressure not operating pressure.

Ya I heard about light affecting results on crono.
No diffuser rods makes it easier. I've shot from 3' to 20' trying to see any difference, not in a very scientific way though.
When the Asco valve first showed up on this site I think Dewey1? had the spec sheets posted. I know it's here, and that is good because of the rebuild kits that are available.
Ya ,and my compressor would not fill past 110psi.

I use a C02/HPA setup so what do you think the valve is rated for?
