Well its not exactly new, but what if you used magnets incorporated into the trigger to pull a spring that will soon be released because the magnets will give, setting off a pin to hit the hammer valve, therefore sending a burst of air to the barrel? I am a horrible explainer, but could someone help me get a pic from ms paint to this thread? I am even worse with computers, so don't go too hard on me. i am quite a noob, but i have a friend who i can get free parts from(including hundreds of copper fittings...dads a airconditioning mechanic) and recently found out that my friend ownes a lathe,(and not to mention every spudding workshop dream) and is really good at making stuff. my friend is an airsoft fanatic, so i am eager for my gun to be better than his..powerwise that is :)
Edit:now the pic comes

It would be even better to use electromagnets, but they already thought of that

Just because an idea isn't original, it doesn't mean it's not workable. You just gave me an idea of my own :D

Got the pic on your PC?

Start a reply to this thread. Down at the bottom of the page is a "Browse..." button, click it and browse to the picture on your PC. Ta da, when you "Submit" your post your picture will be uploaded to the forum.

(If you don't see the "Browse..." button when you are editing your new post the click the "Preview" button. The resulting page will give you a preview of your post so far (well duh) and it will also include the "Browse" button needed to upload your image. For some reason the forum doesn't give you the "Browse..." button when you create a new post until you "Preview" the post.)

I'm assuming you made it in microsoft paint, what you have to do is file -> save as and then in the "Save as type" box select either JPEG or GIF, then you can upload the file.

Ok, got it.(look at starting topic) Does this look like a good hammer valve design? it seems pretty straightforward, but there could be something wrong that i missed. any feedback?

It's similar to other designs I've seen here but replaces the main hammer spring with magnet, I don't see why it shouldn't work - though if you want the air pressure to reload the bolt it needs some tweaking.

Ok, just making sure i didn't forget something in the trigger mechanism. do you think that wood would be a good material to make the machined parts out of?

Shouldn't the trigger be holding the bolt, I don't see you you want to get it to fire - have a look at how my design works.
