I agree with all the above posts....it would be best is you piped it into a chamber then released it from the chamber then to release it from what ever is stored in you compressor. Low flow and low volume would be my guess to whats going on...

I just purchased a 2000psi power washer. Is it also capable of filling air tanks, if so, how can I do it safely?

Most of them have an auto shut off if you try to overwork it (consumer grade) but I don't you could use it to fill an air tank. good luck
