yes they can 'go bad' the rust in the chamber can mess up your air and make it dirty when it gets into what your filling
and is it electrical or gas
IM guessing gas so you might have to get a new motor

make sure the motor and tank are working fine and are in good condition and u should be set and ready to go

Hey, good deal on the free compressor...
Drain the air tank of water and change the compressor oil...should be all you have to do unless it's just worn out.
The big test is just fire it up and see what happened. They are loud and obnoxious, so get used to it.

I will clean it up this weekend, Re-Wire everything and give it a good cleaning, If it works I won't have to buy a new cannon..brother361 wrote:make sure the motor and tank are working fine and are in good condition and u should be set and ready to go![]()
Looks like this one with a little hint of ghetto.
Well ghetto is good, as I always say. Oh what about giving a red coat of auto paint with an electric blue stripe? thats what we did on my dads riding mower.

If it looks like the one in the picture, then it is probably an oiled compressor. If the tank is old, I would suggest checking the inside for rust, if there is a lot of it, get a new tank (they sell them at Lowes for < $40) but if it's only a little bit rusted, you could probably get away with coating the inside of it with Rust-oleum or some other type of rust-fighting paint.
I don't know very much about compressor motors, but you might need to change the oil.

Now that's a compressor!...nothing ghetto about that baby. Ingersol Rand is one of the best compressor brands made in the world. If it's operational, you have yourself a real find there.
